Asian Doll’s Challenging Childhood and Its Impact on Her Career
Misharron Jermeisha Allen was born on December 7, 1996, in Dallas, Texas. She grew up in the city’s southern area, specifically the Park Row neighborhood. Misharron’s family, where she was the second of four children, constantly struggled with poverty. Her father, the future rapper’s dad, was frequently in and out of jail. This tough upbringing took its toll; she had her first brush with the law at just 12 years old.
Despite attending Skyline High School, a reputable institution, Misharron dropped out in 12th grade. She explained her decision by stating she wanted to focus on her passion for music. It’s likely these early struggles and instability pushed her toward art, where music offered an outlet for her complex emotions.
The Dallas Rapper’s Career Journey
Asian Doll’s music career kicked off on December 16, 2015, with the release of her debut album, “Da Rise of Barbie Doll Gang Empire.” Within days, this release grabbed the attention of influential African American blogs, which helped propel her career forward. Over the next few years, she actively worked on new projects, including “Drippin in Glo” (2016), “Project Princess Vol. 1” (2016), “OuttaSpace” (2017), “Kill Bill, Vol. 1” (2017), and “Doll SZN” (2018). These releases allowed Asian Doll to experiment with her sound and carve out her distinct identity.
On June 13, 2018, Asian Doll signed with 1017 Eskimo Records, a label founded by legendary rapper Gucci Mane. She became the first female artist to join their roster.
Her first project under the label was “So Icy Princess” (2018). In 2019, Asian Doll continued to release music actively, dropping her eighth and ninth albums, “UNFUCCWITABLE” and “Fight Night.”

Changing Her Stage Name
When Asian Doll finally started feeling special, like she had overcome poverty, she noticed that the “Doll” part of her stage name became popular among other female rappers.
Because of this, in 2019, Misharron Allen changed her stage name to Asian Da Brat. Initially, many thought this was a nod to the famous Chicago rapper Da Brat, whose debut album “Funkdafied” was the first platinum record for a female rapper. However, in an April 2019 interview, Allen clarified that “Da Brat” is actually a reference to the popular Bratz Dolls brand.
The Rapper’s Adult Struggles
In January 2021, Asian Doll openly discussed her battle with depression. The disorder was triggered by the death of her ex-boyfriend, King Von. Although their relationship was far from perfect, Asian Doll took the loss incredibly hard. The depth of her feelings for him is even visible on her body; she has five tattoos dedicated to him.
Alongside her personal struggles, Misharron Allen continues to face legal issues. Perhaps it’s a lingering effect of her difficult childhood, but her past hasn’t completely faded. In June 2018, the rapper was arrested in New York after a fight, though she was released hours later. Two years later, on September 4, 2020, Allen was again taken into custody in Georgia on drug-related charges, only to be released on bond four days later. Her most recent known legal trouble occurred in October 2022 when Asian Doll was arrested again in Douglas County, Georgia. This was due to her failure to appear in court on charges of speeding 20 miles per hour over the limit and not having a valid Texas driver’s license. These events highlight that despite her musical success, Asian Doll continues to grapple with issues stemming from her past.
