History and concept
The restaurant is owned and run by a family who emigrated from Naples to Texas, determined to share generations of recipes and southern Italian hospitality. In the kitchen, Italian-born chef Luigi Iannuario — whose résumé runs through Michelin-starred rooms — translates that heritage into refined plates for the Arts District, directly across from the city’s opera and symphony halls.
What to order
The fettuccine funghi e tartufo is the showpiece: saffron-infused egg pasta finished tableside with porcini, truffle butter and shaved black truffle. Spaghetti Alessandra pairs wild Argentinian shrimp and jumbo lump crab in a spicy vodka sauce, while the bucatini aragosta arrabbiata sets squid-ink pasta against a whole Maine lobster and Calabrian chili heat. Branzino in lemon-butter-caper sauce and the tableside veal cotoletta round out the classics; the deep Italian wine list does the rest.
